This is the homepage of the old Eurasia Research Center web site which was launched in 1996. The main content of this website has now moved to the Global Geopolitics Net website.

The Eurasia Research Center Web Site has featured in depth research reports, news analysis, and links to newspaper articles and wire service reports with breaking news on the Balkans, Baltic States, Central Europe, the Caucasus, formerly Soviet Central Asia, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Iran, Turkey, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. Also featured are direct links to pages with information on politics, issues of war and peace, culture, and social, economic and human rights conditions in Post Cold War Eurasia.

The subject matter of this site has now been expanded to cover global issues and all new content is being presented on the Global Geopolitics Net website and related blogs. All content on this site has been presented free of charge as a public service..

THE EURASIA RESEARCH CENTER PROJECT

Eurasia Research Center - Global Geopolitics Net is a non-commercial educational project aimed at fostering public understanding of complex problems and issues facing the world today. The Eurasia Research Center includes a personal library and archive of articles and documents collected and organized by Alan F. Fogelquist for purposes of research and analysis on world issues as part of a free educational effort maintained personally by project organizer. The Eurasia Research Center - Global Geopolititcs Net project has not applied for nor received grant money or financial assistance from any public or private institution or organization. All costs of maintaining the library, document archives, computer equipment, and related websites and blogs of the Eurasia Research Center project have been incurred at the personal expense of Alan F. Fogelquist, Ph.D. and his family. All articles and information provided on the website have been offerred free of charge and the Eurasia Research Center and Global Geopolitics Net web sites are advertisement free and do not seek advertising revenues.

This site presents information on major global issues such as peace and war, human rights, intelligence gathering, terrorism, globalization, economic development, and the environment, as well as the internal politics of major countries and crisis areas. The site carries out non commercial educational service aimed at fostering public awareness of complex problems and issues facing the world today.

The ERC is dedicated to promoting democracy, human rights, just peace, economic development, and free and open communication between peoples and cultures. It will provide a forum for journalists, scholars, intellectuals and students struggling for more open and democratic societies.  

Scholars, journalists, and analysts of Eurasian affairs are welcome to make contirbutions to the the ERC's electronic publications.
